Udhayanidhi's short film won int. award

Life, they say, must offer others hope. Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi's short film, Life, seems to have done just that. So, it's no surprise that it's been suitably rewarded.

Yes, the short film, titled Life, made by kiruthiga udhavanidhi along with two other filmmakers, Sasikumar and Mysskin, has fetched her the Best Director Award at the International Cinema Festival of india held in Jaipur. Kiruthiga's short film has won an award in the Worldwood International Category.

Beams the director, "Life is a trilogy — three short stories made by mysskin sir, Sasikumar sir and me. All the stories have been scripted by me and directed by all three of us. Life is an attempt to sensitise people to the problem of shunning AIDS victims. This award has definitely given my confidence level a boost and the motivation to make more good films."

The young filmmaker certainly has reasons to be proud. Life, it seems, was chosen from among a total of 500 entries.

So, how was the experience of working with two successful filmmakers? Says Kiruthiga, "It was actually a wonderful experience. The credit goes to both of them as well. I've learnt a lot from them. They offered their assistance for making the film."

The film and this award clearly show she has the potential to make good films. Does this mean that she'll be directing movies soon? "I do have that idea. But let's see," she signs off.
