Arbaaz Khan is taking no chances with the sequel to his brother Salman Khan's blockbuster Dabangg.
With Abhinav Kashyap opting out of the project, the directorial reins of Dabangg 2 fell into Arbaaz's hands, who has now taken extra time to prepare for his big job.
Confirming the developments, Arbaaz said, "I need time. The project is at the ideating stage. We need to crack an idea for the sequel and then carry the project forward from there. I don't want to take any chances.
So we've called off the shooting of Dabangg 2 that was scheduled to start in December 2011 and will start shooting only in March 2012."
Explaining the reason for postponing the film, Arbaaz said, "The period between November and February is full of festivals.
Besides, there is Salman's birthday in December. All this means several breaks, which will hamper the creative process."
Arbaaz said he is in no hurry. "Why would I want to rush it? I've nothing to prove. We'll start when we're ready. I have taken Salman's dates in March. By then we'll have everything in place."
The search for an item song to contend the chartbuster Munni badnaam hui in Dabangg is already on. Arbaaz has asked five music composers to compose an item song each, one of which will be chosen for the film.
Since Dabangg 2 is moving into the city this time Malaika Arora-Khan and Salman will be seen grooving to an urbane beat.
