Following India's victory over Pakistan, the city streets wore a festive look last night. Not only did revelers come out in droves causing traffic snarls at major junctions, even cops let letting drunken drivers off the hook.
Indian flags flew high amidst firecrackers and loud cheering all across the city. On M G Road, people celebrated India's victory by congratulating passing motorists, resulting in a traffic jam near Anil Kumble Circle.

Revelers were observed leaning out of car windows with beer bottles in hand. However, cops turning a blind eye to drink driving.
"Everyone is happy, as India has won. We will only take action if something drastic happens," said Senior Inspector K B Ravi. He added that they were alert to handle any kind of situation and wanted the city to enjoy the team's victory.
DCP, Muthanna also informed that the traffic was heavier last night compared to the entire day. "People are going back after watching the match so there is congestion on MG Road, Brigade Road and the 100 Feet Road in Indira Nagar," he said.
Good times ahead
Anticipating a huge turnout, several pubs and lounges informed that they had stocked 50 per cent extra alcohol for the match. Fashion designer Manoviraj Khosla, present at the City Bar said, "I have been here since 6 pm. Now that India has won, we will go for an after party."
Xtreme Sports Bar gave patrons a round of free drinks to celebrate India's win. "We are happy India won and this is our way of sharing our joy with all those present here," said Mohit Joshi, manager.
At Brigade Road Junction, this reporter spotted a man fighting with the police. In the tussle, he sustained injuries to the face and hauled away bleeding to Cubbon Park police station. However, nobody from the police station responded to any further queries in this regard.
